Description of site:
A large area of lowland peat swamp forest between the Kedang Kepala and Menamang Kiwa Rivers.

State owned (PHPA).
Conservation measures taken:
The entire area was designated as a Nature Reserve (Cagar Alam) in May 1976.
Conservation measures proposed:
It has been suggested that the status of Wildlife Reserve (Suaka Margasatwa) would be more appropriate for the area. Human settlements should be excluded when the boundaries of the reserve are marked in the field.

Hand logging of ramin, and agriculture near settlements.

Disturbance from human settlements, illegal logging and hunting.
