Investigation on the insect biodiversity of Bach Ma National Park in Thua-Thien, Hue Province

Objectives

  • To provide the basis for the management of insect biodiversity in Bach Ma National Park.

Activities

  • Field collections using portable and flexible insect nets and other equipment.
  • Estimate species diversity using Williams Diversity Index, Shannon-Wiener, Simpson-Yule, and Berger-Parker Dominance Index.

Expected Outcomes

  • Recommendations for best methods for assessing insect richness.
  • Recommendations for better conservation of insects in Bach Ma national park.

ARCBC Remarks

  • ARCBC will assign a supervisor. There already exist quite detailed accounts of the moths of Bach Ma and butterflies of Bach Ma. The proponents should make a thorough review of existing literature.
