Community forest management and rehabilitation as means of biodiversity conservation: Case study at Thung Soong community forest in Krabi, Thailand

Objectives

  • To find out the insight of biodiversity status of plants, insects and wildlife in all types of land use patterns at Thung Soong Village Community Forest.
  • To study the ethnobotany of medicinal plant in the village as well as traditional uses of medicinal plants.
  • To understand livelihood of the local people by means of socio-economical study.
  • To find management guidelines for maintaining or increasing the biodiversity of tropical forests that are under the threat of degradation or deforestation and in need of rehabilitation with local community participation.
