1 - 3 November
The First Meeting of the 27th ASEAN Standing Committee (ASC) in Bangkok, Thailand noted that the Country Coordinator forwarded the comments received from ASEAN member countries to the Chairman of the ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment (ASOEN) for incorporation into the project proposal. The Meeting stressed the immediate endorsement of the proposal so that it could be submitted to the EC at the 11th ASEAN-EC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC).
16 September
The ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment (ASOEN) wrote the Chairman of the ASEAN Working Group on Nature Conservation and Biodiversity (AWGNCB) to circulate the ARCBC proposal to all its focal points in the ASEAN member countries for their immediate consideration and endorsement of the project.
19 - 21 July
The Fourth Meeting of the 26th ASEAN Standing Committee (ASC) noted the proposed ASEAN-EC Centre for Excellence project prepared by the Philippines known as the ASEAN Regional Centre for Biodiversity Conservation (ARCBC). The Centre will be located in the Philippines.
27 - 28 May
The 26th ASEAN Standing Committee (ASC) meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia, noted the Philippine project proposal entitled ASEAN Regional Centre for Biodiversity Conservation (ARCBC) for submission to the European Commmission (EC) for funding. ASEAN member countries were requested to submit their comments and suggestions to the Country Coordinator by the end of June, for consideration at the Fourth Meeting of the ASC. The Philippines was authorized as the Country Coordinator tasked with submitting the project proposal to the EC.
